How to voyage With Kids - Lose the Fear and Get Out There!

First- Why you should listen to me. My baby (now 2.5 yr old) who was born in Europe, then was dragged all over Western Europe with his older sister. Trains, yep; Planes, check; automobiles, absolutely... All with 2 little kids in tow.

In trying to put in order for all of our many journeys I read all kinds of internet "how-to" articles, which all had one thing in common... They made me even more nervous to trip with our kiddos than before. I want to be a voice for the idea that traveling with kids can be a fun and worthwhile venture. Let me state clearly: Get Out of Your House and See the World! Don't let having little ones be your excuse to veg out at home for an additional one weekend/month/year.

Teds Camera

Things worth remembering when traveling with kids:
1) Lose the fear. Yes, something will go wrong, but it's commonly not what you stress about beforehand. My one year old had his toes ended into the airplane tray-table by a not-so helpful flight attendant. Did it suck? Yes. Did he recover? Yes, and more swiftly than I would have guessed.

2) Pack snacks, a consolidate distractions (books, toys, crayons & paper), diapers and a turn of clothes. Bringing your own U-Haul filled with all things you might perhaps need is overkill, and painful to carry.

3) A trip cot was an extraordinary investment, and made it so that we did not have to rely on hotels to furnish a pack and play. (our's was Phil & Ted's, but check Amazon for all your options)

4) Cameras... I love the photos that I have of my kids growing up in Hawaii, Alaska, California, Luxembourg, Paris, London, Turkey, etc. The memories of their precious youth and the places strongly go together.

5) Planning. Use your up-front logic to design your plans. Still have little ones who need to nap? Then plan to return to the hotel for naptime or be in transit so they can rest in the car or stroller. My son slept through more extraordinary museums in a backpack than I can count, and nothing tragic happened when he didn't sleep in his crib.

6) Lose the fear by beginning out gradually. Do daytrips around your home that want you to be out beyond naptime. Start with one night away. Babysteps will have you ready to for a 2 week vacation in short order.

Sound Comparison of Six PCP Air Rifles

Sound Comparison of Six PCP Air Rifles Tube. Duration : 8.35 Mins.

This video takes a close look at the Daystate Air Ranger, FX Royale, Air Arms S410 FAC, Logun Solo, BSA Ultra, and Edgun Matador. After a look at the guns, we move on to a sound test, and finish off with a few conclusions re: the sound levels of the six rifles. The Air Ranger was tuned to 45 foot pound of energy (fpe). The Edgun was at 33fpe. The Royale about 34-35fpe. The Logun was 29fpe. The AA was at about 31-32fpe. And the Ultra (.177) was at 15-16fpe. I'd shut my camera down in between guns, and sometimes I wouldn't get the zoom in the same spot when I fired it back up. The microphone isn't a stereo telescopic (like some of the really fancy cameras), so the sound being recorded was the same despite the differing zoom. Background music is titled "Whiskey on the Mississippi", by Kevin Macleod.
